Teaching statement

As a teacher and mentor, I strive to teach each of my students to be a complete vocal musician. I believe in working with the whole student to achieve vocal and artistic freedom. I aim to provide excellent vocal training through the combination of old and new techniques, individualized lesson planning, technology, and Alexander Technique informed practices to help each student achieve their vocal goals. I teach a range of singing styles including classical, musical theatre, and commercial singing.

ARTIST statement

Music is my sanctuary, my refuge—the place I return to in moments of joy, sorrow, and turmoil. It is my therapy, a balm for the soul, and a constant companion. Music embodies beauty, trust, and love. It's a steadfast presence I can always rely on, never wavering in its support.

As an artist, musician, educator, and fellow human being, my purpose is to impart this profound connection. I aspire to cultivate an environment where listeners and learners alike feel embraced, as if they've found a home within the melodies and harmonies. Together, let's weave a tapestry of shared experiences through the transformative power of music.

 

VOCAL Health

I have a strong understanding of vocal health and the factors that can affect vocal wellbeing. Through my career as a voice teacher, I have developed the skills necessary to spot the signs of vocal dysfunction and imbalance. I have an understanding of how to prevent vocal health issues from occurring in the workplace.
